Eggs Before Easter

It was good to see everyone at The Crossing yesterday. Time for some honesty, though. There are just some Sundays where you just don't feel like you have it. I think yesterday was one of those days. First of all I felt like I laid an egg in the message. It was too long and not interesting enough. And the thing that kills me is that it was the first in this series. We struggled in other ways too. The slides were hard to read, the sound was not just right, the band struggled, a problem with the computer kept the countdown from coming up. What a day.

So what do you do? Learn what you can and move on. This week will be better--count on it. But please pray for us. We need God to bless our work. So we had some eggs before Easter. But this was one Sunday. We move forward making things as good as we can but in the end it is God's church.

I know when things don't seem to go "just right" there may be a sense of failure, but believe me, you were right on. Yes, the slides were a little difficult to read, and the band was a little off key, but they still ROCKED!! We're all human and well, things happen. Your message came through though loud and clear!! :)

I agree!!!!! Sometimes the Sunday's when we feel we are most off is when God is most on. I know that I was encouraged by the message, as well as the worship. We are fallible, but God is still sovereign.

Thanks for the encouragement whoever you are...the blog only records you as anonymous. I am blessed to serve with people like you. And thanks for reading the blog.

I felt the message was right on, but the music portion of the service was not one of our best. Seems to me we have gotten into a mode or rut where church is like a big perfomance. Very little with the music is spiritualy led anymore. The congregation looks at us while playing with a deer in the headlight look. Wanting to join in, but not sure how. If we are going to be worship leaders, then we must do just that, lead worship. We should stive to invite God into a service where it's evident to him that there is a group of people there who love him and love to Praise and Worship him in song. I think right now he looks down on us, sees us only performing and says "I'll try them again later, when they get it".

Sorry for the gloom and doom.....but I'm so ready for music to be the catalyst that includes and encourages all (all meaning many different types of people) to be at one with God instead of alienating the congregation from the PERFORMERS!!!

Great service yesterday! My friend Carlos(one of the cheer dads)told me a few times how yesterday's message was right in line with his recent studies and desire to know Jesus better.
